The couple I know that is getting married this year are really focused on inviting only those they have a real relationship with. So far, I've been invited to a full-course engagement dinner and a champagne bridal shower brunch. Great way to cheer me up and remind me that my wedding day is the end goal

I should have just gotten married in 2021 when I had a chance. I read somewhere that this year is going to be the most weddings ever since 1984 - no wonder I had a hard time finding a venue and the dress I initially wanted was on backorder. My maid of honor knew that it was a terrible time and she was thoughtful enough to send me these wedding gift boxes to cheer me up. It's not the magical answer but it did help remind me that the wedding day is the most important day and I just need to get to that day in one piece.
